Maple Elementary is an inclusive learning community where every student is known, valued, and supported as a whole child. As a small school in Newbury Park, we believe our size is one of our greatest strengths, allowing us to build meaningful relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for every student and family.

Our commitment to inclusion extends beyond the classroom. Maple is proud to be recognized as a Special Olympics Unified Champion School and a California Gold Ribbon School. These recognitions reflect our dedication to creating opportunities for all students to learn, lead, and grow together.

Guided by our schoolwide learning model, Maple students learn through hands-on experiences supported by specialists in STEAM, art, music, physical education, and intervention. We believe students thrive when learning is active, meaningful, and connected to the world around them.
At Maple, schoolwide experiences foster connection, inclusion, and joy. Students and families come together through outdoor learning, celebrations of kindness, family events, leadership opportunities, and experiences that strengthen our sense of community.
Developing a Culture of Community is our schoolwide priority. Our school is divided into three Houses. The House of Friendship, the House of Courage, and the House of Integrity. Each House meets together each month to participate in different activities which foster student mentorship and inclusion for all students. Students are paired together in Houses to promote leadership and mentorship, as students are expected to support and care for the younger Maple Mustangs. House pairings are TK, K, and 5th grade, 1st and 3rd, and 2nd and 4th grade.
