Elementary
Maple Elementary is a small school in Newbury Park that feels like a community. Maple is proud of the diversity of our school, and we celebrate what makes us special. Inside our gates, we promote Kindness, Acceptance, and Inclusion in all that we do! Maple has been recognized as a Special Olympics Unified Champion School in 2023 as well as a California Gold Ribbon School.
Maple staff focus on the whole child through strong academics, social emotional support, and a focus on fitness. Maple Mustangs thrive in an environment that fosters leadership through Student Council, House Mentorship, and Unified Youth Leadership through our partnership with Special Olympics. We foster a growth mindset and teach the POWER of YET, as well as a daily focus on social emotional learning.
Our SEM is based on best practices in gifted education and aims to challenge and enrich every child's education by facilitating both academic and affective learning opportunities to build a foundation for critical thinking, achievement, innovation and success.

Maple strongly believes in fostering ARTS Education and enrichment opportunities for students, as we provide the following experiences for students: ART, DANCE, DRAMA, LIBRARY, MUSIC, PE, and STEAM.
School wide events at Maple include weekly gatherings in our Mustang Café to recite the pledge and sing the National Anthem, Unity Day, monthly Family Lunches, Spread the Word Week, and our very own School Olympics in the spring, as well as monthly special lunches for all students.
Developing a Culture of Community is our schoolwide priority. Our school is divided into three Houses. The House of Friendship, the House of Courage, and the House of Integrity. Each House meets together each month to participate in different activities which foster student mentorship and inclusion for all students. Students are paired together in Houses to promote leadership and mentorship, as students are expected to support and care for the younger Maple Mustangs. House pairings are TK, K, and 5th grade, 1st and 3rd, and 2nd and 4th grade.
